"Oggetti" literally means "objects" in italian. Oggetti was founded in 1975 as an import business of fine italian glass sculpture. Only until recently did Oggetti ask its artisans to create glass shades for lighting fixtures. Each Oggetti artisan has their own unique style.

Eros Raffael was born in Italy in 1970. He began working with glass at the age of fourteen, assisting the chandelier-maker Mazzuccato. He then moved to Pavanello where he worked with Hans Peter Neidhardt, the artist and master cane worker. From 1991 through 1995 he furthered his glass education under the tutelage of Adriano dalla Valentino. Having learned from such masters, Eros then opened his own studio in 1996, where he has continued to experiment with canes and millefiori.
Eros has won awards in several competitions. In 1996 he took a first prize in Padua in a contest among Venetian artists. And again in 1998 and 1999 his work was recognized with prizes. He has also produced pieces for various international artists while continuing to develop his own signature pieces with glass canes.
Hans Peter Neidhardt was born in Germany in 1947. He studied architecture and design at the University of Venice. There he was influenced by the great glass designer Carlo Scarpa. After graduation he continued at the university as a professor. In 1986 Neidhardt began to work with various Murano companies as a designer of accessories. His keen sense of color allowed him to use canes and murrine in various new and modern ways. In 1999 he opened his own furnace, continuing to explore technique and color in his lighting and accessories.
Maxbina is truly a family venture. The company was begun in the 1970's by father Bruno Padovan. His name literally means "coming from Padua." After a long experience with several glassmakers in Murano, Bruno opened his own furnace there. Since 1987 his son Massimo and daughter Sabrina have been continuing their father's activity. In fact, the name Maxbina is a combination of the two siblings' names.
In the subsequent years the two have worked hard to distinguish Padovan. They are known for their "scavo" finishes, which have been seen in shops and showrooms all over the world. Maxbina also produces glass parts for some of the top lighting companies in Italy.
The products are the result of the creativity of this brother-sister team. They combine traditional Muranese techniques and innovative design. And now a third generation has joined the firm. Riccardo, Sabrina's son, and Alessio, Sabrina's son-in-law, are working respectively in the cold shop and the furnace. Certainly Maxbina will continue to grow and prosper with the addition of yet another generation of young talent.
