Venezia
The Venezia collection conveys qualities of craftsmanship and style in the old world tradition. Fashioned entirely by hand according to ancient techniques, each fixture differs slightly, bearing witness to the inherent uniqueness of individual human effort. These hand blown fixture are created on the tiny island of Lido located just off the coast of Venice.
The initial process consists of shaping and welding the wires which form the frame of the lantern. After melting and working the glass mass, the master blowers blow the glass inside the frame, shaping the lanterns to form without the use of moulds. Small irregularities reflect the true uniqueness of each handcrafted piece. The lanterns are then slowly cooled and prepared for the finishing process. Finally, each item is checked through modern technical procedures which ensure quality and compliance with safety standards without altering the decorative characteristics of each model.
